The importance of having a vision
...October 10, 2020
Imagine going somewhere, you always have a destination. With that destination in mind, you know what vehicle you want to use and on a lower level, you know what direction and actions you should take. This is similar to living our lives.
If you tell this to someone, they’ll go sure. Sounds clear right? You need direction in your life. Then if you ask: Do you have a vision? A lot of times the answer is no. There is no direction without a vision. Your vision is your destination, your Northstar, your lighthouse. It’s that dot on the horizon you want to go to. If that is not set your actions will not follow.
Having a vision also feeds the subconscious mind, so actions start to lead towards your destination. When you have a vision it’s also very easy to check if the time you are spending on something is contributing to that vision.
So are you doing the right things? Instead of doing the things right, which is also required in a later state. Knowing where you want to go helps you set up your day and week planning accordingly. Have a weekly review and planning. Compare it with your vision, are they in sync? Read this articl on how to navitage to your destination 6 Steps to be pro-active by good time management .
To keep in the same analogy, one day we will arrive at our destination. What should you do? Go to the next destination. Don’t be afraid to change things in your vision, it’s a living document. You’ll gain new insights you want to apply to keep it relevant.
Don’t forget that there are a lot of different ways to get to a destination, you just need to find the one that suits your needs.
