I’m Michael Awad a former project management consultant/business analyst for over ten years who followed his passion and became a web developer.

About me

I’m one half Egyptian and one half Dutch, mid-thirties, happily married, have two boys, which I love to spend most of my time with.

I started coding in Ruby on Rails to learn the basics in a 3-month full-time coding boot camp, but as soon as I started my first development job it was all about JavaScript. I started working on a NodeJS backend and a VueJS front-end.

In my free time, I like to zoom in to a specific technology, read about it, and build something with it, for example, this blog.

Even though developing is my passion and mostly consists of sitting behind a computer I think it’s very important to stay in shape. So I train two times a day and one of those is outside no matter what the weather is like, which is mostly running/walking.

I try to eat healthily and am also experimenting with different fasting methods, like intermittent fasting and Keto.

Another thing that I’m passionate about is creating a strong mindset and get the most out of life. To develop this mindset I read about Stoic philosophy, Greek mythology, and biographies from people that excel in this space.
